Teaching procedures 教学过程

Step 1 Greeting & Warm-up

1.Enjoy an English song before class

2. Greetings

3.T:Whats the song about? We know there are twelve mouths in a year? They are...(点一个学生说一个月份,按顺序)

Step 2 Revision

1.Look and say

T: Bs and gs, we have learned some festivals in story time. Do you remember what festivals are they talking about? S:...(学生说一个贴一个)You have good memories!

2.Play a game

Now lets play a game . Read the festival aloud, then find his two friends, time and activity. If you know the answer raise your hand quickly, Are you ready?learn:Lantern Festival

Step3 Cartoon time

1.Watch and answer

T:(指板书)We know these are Chinese Festivals. (贴板书)

Our friend Bobby and Tina are talking about a festival too. What festival are they talking about? Lets watch the cartoon.S: Mothers day.

2.Try to ask

T: What do you want to know about Mothers Day? S:(学生根据板书提示提问)

Q1.When is Mothers day?

Q2.What do people do\say on Mothers Day?

Q3.What do Bobby and Tina give to their mother?

3.Read and answer

Open your books , read by yourself, and answer the 3 questions. 1min, go. ...

Check the answers.

T:What else can you give to your Mum or what can you do for her on Mother's Day? S: Do housework.\make the bed...(Thats a good idea! I like your present. )

4.Try to read

a. Listen and repeat.

I like your reading. This time work in 4, choose different way to present the cartoon.

b.Happy show.(Read or act the story)

5.Try to talk (Make up an end for the story)

T: So much for this. Bobbys mother can get a card, some flowers and best wishes on Mothers Day. So she is very happy. What about his father? What does he say? S: Is there a Fathers Day?

T: Is there a Fathers Day, boys and girls? S:Yes.

T: When is it? S: Its on the third Sunday of June.

T:Lets make up an end for the story. (work in pairs)

T:This year,Mothers Day is on the thirteenth of May.(513)It has passed.Fathers Day is on the sixteenth of June.(616) Dont forget to show your love to your father.

Step4.Culture time

1.Listen and answer

T: Good! Boys and girls we know Fathers day, mothers day, they are western festivals. Halloween is also a western festival. Follow me Halloween.(板书)Do you want to know it ? Please listen to the tape and find as much information as you can. Finish the exercise on this paper.

Now lets check the answers.(Excellent!)

2. Sing a song

T:Trick or treat is popular game for Halloween. Its very fun. Lets enjoy a song about it.

3.Read

T: Boys and girls, do you like Halloween?OK,Lets introduce it together.(read)

4.Have a PK

T: Do you know any other western festivals? (板书)

T: Do you like these western festivals? What about the Chinese festivals? Which one is more popular in our class? Now lets have a PK between Chinese and Western festivals.

T:Here are the rules. work in 4 ,choose one festival to introduce . Understand? 2 min go!

T: Times up. Pay attention to the Pk tips. Now are you ready for PK?Round1.

T: What can you do for your group before vote.

T: Lets vote. Stick your stickers on your favorite festival card. Go.(30秒倒计时)

T:How many stickers do you get? So this group is the winner. Big hands! XXX is more popular in our class. But I like all the festivals, There are some differences between Chinese Festivals and Western Festivals. The key word of Chinese Festivals is reunion. We usually get together when the festivals come. Many Western Festivals are related to religion. But both Chinese Festivals and Western Festivals are about love and blessing. Different festivals, different cultures!

Step5.Consolidation

T:We also can design a festival for ourselves. I should work from seven in the morning to five in the afternoon. After work. Im so tired. So I design a festival, its on 18th of May.On that day, I neednt do any housework. I can have a rest, watch TV and so on. I call it No housework Day. Do you like my day? Its your turn. Design a festival for yourself. You can design Nice food Festival No homework FestivalFree Festival and so on. (学生设计并展示)

Step6. Homework

1.Read and act Cartoon time.

2. Design a poster for the festival you like.
