Step1. Free talk.
1. T: Good morning, boys and girls. Today, I’m your new English teacher. So I’m very happy and excited. Do you want to know something about me? You can ask me some questions, I will tell you.

T: My English name is Mary. I like purple. I like listening to music. Do you like listening to music? Let’s listen to an English song together. Pay more attention: What is this song about and what can you see in this cartoon?
2. Listen to a song.
S: It’s about Christmas.
T: Yes, so today we’ll learn Unit7 At Christmas.
S: I can see a Christmas tree.
T: Yes, look, I have two Christmas trees for you. They are your Christmas presents. One is for boys, the other is for girls. Are they nice? (No) So let’s decorate them.
Step2. Presentation and practice.
1. T: We have two Christmas trees and a lot of presents here. Let’s show our presents. First, I’ll show my present.
①I’ve got a watch from my sister at Christmas. It’s very nice.
It’s my watch. It’s mine. Teach: mine.
②S1: I’ve got a… from … at Christmas. It’s very…

T: Yes, it’s your… It’s yours. Teach: yours.

3. T: Wow, you had so many nice presents. I think you had a wonderful Christmas. Jim had a wonderful Christmas, too. Why? Let’s have a look at this picture. Can you ask some questions about this picture? (T gives a learning tip: who, when, where, what.)
Ss ask some questions and answer them.

4. Retell the introduction.
5. a. T: Everybody was very excited because there’s a big Christmas tree in their house. Under the Christmas tree, there are so many presents. Do you want to know what they are?Let’s listen and tick the presents.
b. T: How to read the new words? Discuss in groups: a skateboard, a hairdryer, a calculator, a teapot, a watch, a wallet. Then read together.
6. a. T: You know Jim’s family got so many presents at Christmas. But whose presents are they and who are they from? Do you know? Please read and finish this form with your deskmates.

Step3. Consolidations.
1. T: Boys and girls, there are a lot of holidays in a year. I think you got a lot of presents on these holidays. Let’s talk about our presents with your partners.

The present did by yourself (DIY) is more precious.
b. What should you do when you get a present?
In China, we say ‘Thank you’, then open it after the guest leave(离开).
In western countries(西方国家), they open it in front of the guest(客人) and praise the present.
3. T: Boys and girls, when we get presents, we are full of cheerfulness. Cheerfulness is health; its opposite, melancholy, is disease. 欢乐就是健康, 忧郁就是病痛。

2. Write a short passage about‘ _______ present’ on your exercise book.
3. Halloween is coming. Make a present, then give it to your parents or your friend.
